
Switzerland expands anti-Russian sanctions list
Swiss Ministry of Economic Affairs adds to list of sanctioned individuals and organisations from Russia
Switzerland has expanded the anti-Russian sanctions list, the country’s Economy Ministry said in a statement.
“On the twenty-first of December, the Federal Department of Economy, which is in charge of sanctions, expanded the sanctions list against Russia. Switzerland thus adopts the changes that the EU has decided to make due to the⦠the alarming situation in Ukraine,” RIA Novosti quoted a message published on the ministry’s website as saying.
The list includes 141 individuals, as well as 49 organizations: MPs, judges, public figures, banks, TV channels, government agencies.
Last week, the European Union approved a ninth package of anti-Russian sanctions with similar content.
Earlier, Radio Sputnik described how the West circumvents its own sanctions on Russian oil.
